Gluten-Free Foods To Try in Lemont
We haven’t taken a formal community poll but we’d like to think Lemont’s love language is food. From a juicy burger to freshly made pasta, we love to gather round and eat with friends and family. (It’s quite possible that we’d easily make a new friend over our shared love of food.)
However, we recognize the increasing need for inclusive foods that allow every member of our community to indulge. We’ve taken the first stab at creating a gluten-free menu for our increasingly population of those with a gluten-intolerance.
Author’s Note: While we don’t have any certified gluten-free kitchens in Lemont, we have a few menu options from spots around town that offer gluten-friendly options. If you live with celiac, please use discernment when dining at any of the kitchens mentioned below.
Here are a few of our favorites:
Wooden Paddle | Any of the award-winning pizza flavors are available on a gluten-free crust. It’s airy, toasty, and takes like the real deal. They also have dairy-free cheese options if you’re looking to double down and you can find them at the Lemont Farmers Market with their gluten-free dough.
La Dolce Vita | Yes, you can still indulge in pasta. Our favorite Italian eatery has gluten-free pasta and an entire gluten-friendly menu on their website.
Corner Stone Tavern | The yummiest burgers are available with gluten-free buns so you can leave the lettuce wrap at home.
Folklore Coffee | While you pick up the freshest cup of coffee in town, grab a special gluten-free pastry made locally in Lemont!
Next Mex | Grab a delicious taco with corn tortillas and you have a great gluten-free meal! We also love their shrimp ceviche and al pastor taco dinner.
Digs on Canal | Try the famous Gelsosomos Pizza that is available on a gluten-free crust. You can also opt for gluten gluten-free toast making the BLT one of the best around town.
Morenos | If you’re a fan of salsa, you have to give Moreno’s a try and munch on their delicious tortilla chips. We love the sopes - made of fried masa and you can’t miss the blue corn tortilla with steak!
Barrel and Vine | The menu at Barrel & Vine changes regularly with specials added around each holiday. The fryers are gluten-free making crispy, golden french fries, calamari, and the Walleye fish special some of our favorites.
Rustic Knead | Never miss out on a sandwich again. Try any of their sammies on gluten-free bread.
Matt’s Barbecue | Skip the bun, add more brisket! The meats at Matt’s are gluten-free and worth the hype.
If you make your way to Lemont Uptown, there are even more treats to enjoy.
Lia P Gluten-Free Bakery | This gluten-free gourmet bakery was created more the need for more gluten-free options! You’ll find bread along with cookies, brownies, bars, and pie! You’ll find gluten-free kolaczki (polish creme-filled cookies) and gf-donuts on Saturday morning.
