ABOUT MATT
Matt’s Barbecue is known for its delicious Texas-Style Barbecue. Matt Borner, a proud Father of 5, grew up in Lemont and spent his free time in high school grilling and smoking. After school, he moved to Central Texas where his love and passion for barbecue only grew.
“When I wasn’t working my full-time job or taking care of my kids, I was outside barbecuing.”
Matt moved back to Lemont and brought his smoker with him. In his part-time, he’d cook for family and friends, the neighborhood, and soon his cult-like following grew so big that he knew it was time to open a restaurant. Actually, his fans demanded it!
Over the past few years, Matt’s Barbecue has become known as a family-friendly spot with tons of options to choose from. Enjoy a smoked brisket mac and cheese with your friends or bring your kids by for a hot dog after dance class and baseball practice.
Q on Canal is his way to give back to the community after a successful start following his passion. Read more of his story here.
