Lemont Downtown is an epicenter for small businesses. From the booths of the Lemont Farmers Market to our 100-year old taverns, we love supporting our founders and their journeys.

As they celebrate their 10th anniversary, we sat down with the founder of Allure Skin Studio, Susanna Scott, to learn more about her journey.

What are the biggest lessons you’ve learned in building your business over the last decade?

Over the past 10 years, I’ve learned that consistency, passion, and a deep commitment to my clients are the keys to success. Building a business takes patience, and every challenge is an opportunity for growth. I’ve also realized that education never stops—I’m always learning new techniques and treatments to offer the best results. Most importantly, I’ve learned that relationships matter. My clients aren't  just customers; they 've become family.

What do you love most about your clients?

My clients are truly the heart of Allure Skin Studio. I love how supportive, loyal, and kind they are. Many have been with me from the very beginning, and I’ve had the privilege of watching their lives change, celebrating milestones, weddings, and new chapters alongside them. It's a gift to be part of their skincare journey and to help them feel confident in their skin.

What obstacles or challenges have you overcome?

Like any small business owner, I’ve faced my share of challenges, from navigating economic shifts to adapting to new industry trends. One of the biggest hurdles was the pandemic. It forced me to rethink how I connect with clients and offer services. I pivoted to virtual consultations and online skincare guidance, which not only helped me stay afloat but also expanded my ability to help people beyond Lemont. It taught me resilience and the importance of always evolving.
