Meet Your New Neighbor: Marbella of Lemont Brings Luxury Living to Lemont

Photography by Molly Hebda

Over the last five years, Lemont Downtown has seen tremendous growth – new businesses, more events and markets, and more people eager to move to the exciting Chicago suburb.

One of the most anticipated arrivals has been Marbella of Lemont – a new apartment building featuring top-of-the-line finishes, high-end amenities, and everything else you need to feel right at home.  Everyone has been so curious about the new space, so we sat down with Joncarlo Abbinante, Property Manager and Project Engineer, to talk about the new construction and what it means for Lemont.

KG: Thank you so much for meeting with me! Folks have been talking about this project for years, so we’re excited to finally see the space. Can you tell me more about Marbella of Lemont?

JA: Of course! Marbella of Lemont is a luxury apartment residence in Lemont Downtown. We have 5 floors of luxury apartments and commercial spaces for retail and restaurants on the first floor, offering a great addition to what’s already happening.

KG: What kind of apartments do you offer?

Pet Spa at Marbella of Lemont

Pet Spa at Marbella of Lemont

JA: We have 8 different layouts – from 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom + den to 2 bedroom, and 2 bedroom with den. They’re spacious and perfect for a single occupant, families, or residents who are downsizing their space. Each unit features luxury-level trim and finishes, stainless steel appliances, a full-sized washer/dryer, high ceilings, and large sound-dampening windows allowing for ample natural light while keeping the noise from the Metra station at a minimum. Many folks have admired that as they’ve toured so it’s really perfect if you’re looking for a place in Lemont, close to the train and all of the events in Lemont Downtown, without the noise.

Architecture at Marbella of Lemont

KG: Can you talk to me more about the architecture? Residents have shared that they love how Marbella of Lemont looks like it’s always belonged here.

JA: That was our goal! We wanted to seamlessly fit in and honor the 150+ years of historic architecture that surrounds us. The building features Haussmann style architecture with a signature Mansard roof, detailed brick and stone facade, and a classically beautiful interior all meant to complement the existing Lemont architecture and steeple roof skyline.

KG: The location really seems perfect for residents. I’m sure a lot of folks have been interested.

JA: Yes, Marbella of Lemont is perfect for commuting to Chicago from Lemont, we’re right next to the Metra line - so only about a 2-minute walk. If you love being in Lemont Downtown for all of the events, markets, and festivals that happen throughout the year, we’re able to bring that to your doorstep along with great restaurants, great shopping, and more!

KG: Tons of great shopping in Lemont Downtown. What can we expect for some of the commercial space on the first floor?

JA: The first will be Pilates House Lemont opening up in the next few weeks. [Pilates House has planned a soft opening for December.] We’re excited about that and we have a lot of other retail and restaurant spaces that are eyeing the property.

Polo Lounge at Marbella of Lemont

KG: That will be great. All of the excitement of Lemont Downtown at your doorstep. What else does the building offer?

JA: On top of all of the great things going on outside, we have a lot of community space and amenities to offer residents. Marbella features a cozy Polo Lounge, fully equipped fitness center, pet spa, and a heated underground parking garage for residents. Our Polo Lounge is inspired by the famous Ralph Lauren with its reclaimed wood and Chicago brick design. It’s a great place to cozy up and read a book, host friends for a party, or meet with other residents if you’re working remotely. The Polo Lounge also features a grill deck for residents to use at their convenience.

KG: I can see that! There is so much life right outside your doorstep when you live in Lemont, but it’s nice to have it without even leaving home.

JA: It is! We’ve been excited to be part of Lemont. You’ll be able to enjoy the great shopping and mingling with the friendly residents in Lemont Downtown. Being near the Metra station also makes commuting to Chicago a breeze. For folks who love recreation, the building connects easily to the  I&M Canal trails and open space. If you love walking, running, biking, or just a quick stroll with your family, it’s at your doorstep.

Within a 5-minute walk of the building, you’ll find Athens Park, projected for completion in 2025, which will feature a playground, pavilions, outdoor entertainment space, a dog park, walking and biking paths, a pollinator garden, and more. [Per Patch/Lemont Park District]

KG: Well, you’ve pretty much convinced me to move in! What else should I know before I sign the lease?

JA: We’re excited to engage with the community and local businesses. If you love what Lemont Downtown offers—great entertainment, nightlife, and easy access to recreation—you’ll love living at Marbella.
